1996 Chrysler Sebring: alarm system..door lock..horn..driver door

This answer was rated:

I have a 1996 Chrysler Sebring Convertible JXI. The alarm system seems to have a life of its own regardless of whether the key is inserted into the door lock or not. Sometimes we cannot shut it off and the horn starts blowing when the driver door is unlocked with the key. Is this a serviceable item and where on the car is it located?
This system is run and totally controlled by the vehicles BCM (body control module). If the system is randomly acting up or doing this on its own as you are saying you will have to replace the BCM to correct it. There is no way to disable this system at all. Also the BCM needs to be installed by a dealer because once installed it has to be programed to the vehicle and also has to have the vehicles VIN programmed to it as well.
