Where is the PT Cruiser Transmission Speed Sensor located and is it something I can do?
Please tell me the year of the vehicle and I will send information on how to replace it.

2001 PT Cruiser

 

REMOVAL
  1. Disconnect the battery cables.

Remove air cleaner assembly (Fig. 92).

Remove the battery hold down clamp and remove the battery (Fig. 93).

  1. Remove the battery tray (Fig. 94).
  2. Disconnect output speed sensor connector.

Unscrew and remove output speed sensor (Fig. 95).

  1. Inspect speed sensor O-ring (Fig. 96) and replace if necessary.

INSTALLATION

  1. Verify O-ring is installed into position (Fig. 96).
  2. Install and tighten output speed sensor to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
  3. Connect speed sensor connector.
  4. Install the battery tray (Fig. 94).
  5. Install the battery and hold down clamp (Fig. 93).
  6. Install air cleaner assembly (Fig. 92).
