how to replace the headlight assembly on a pt cruiser 2005 convertible

Hi,

 

here are directions:

 

  • Raise vehicle .
  • Remove wheel and tire.
  • Remove splash shield as necessary to access headlamp housing.
  • Remove grille.

  • Remove the two fascia bolts from behind the grille and.
  • Remove fasteners attaching fender to fascia on the side being worked on.
  • Remove the three fasteners holding the lower fascia to the lower radiator cross member.

     

     

     

     

    Remove four nuts attaching headlamp housing.

    1. Remove headlamp housing by lowering the fascia as necessary and.
    2. Disconnect wire connector.

    INSTALLATION

    CAUTION: Do not touch the glass of halogen bulbs with fingers or other possibly oily surface, reduced bulb life will result.

    1. Connect wire connectors to the back of headlamp housing.
    2. Place headlamp housing in to position, lower fascia as necessary to install headlamp housing in to position and. Tilt headlamp unit to opening as necessary
    3. Install nut(s) attaching headlamp housing.
    4. Test lamp operation.
    5. Install fasteners attaching fender to fascia on the side being work on.
    6. Install the two fascia bolts from behind the grille and.
    7. Install three fasteners to hold the lower fascia to the lower radiator cross member.
    8. Install grille.
    9. Install splash shield as necessary to access headlamp housing.
    10. Install wheel and tire.
    11. Lower vehicle.

    i had gone over your answer with an experienced individual and yoiur directions were including a lot of needless work such as removing grill etc. After careful evauluation I could not use your recommendations.

    Hi,

     

    Sorry you couldnt use it. The directions I gave you were Chrysler factory directions. Because I have no clue has to someone's skill levels when giving them directions, I provide the complete directions, no shortcuts, as some people are not up to handling shortcuts as far as their skillsets, so I find it better to give people factory directions just to make sure they have all information available.
