The tire sensors have internal batteries that are rated for approximately 5 years. Since your vehicle is now 5 years old, what I suspect is happening is the vehicle is noticing one or more tire sensors has a weak battery and that is why you are getting the warning.

I cannot speak for the tire shop's equipment, but the dealer equipment can check the condition of the battery in the sensors for you.
