RECEIVED CODE: PO508...WHAT DOES THIS MEAN
Hello, what year and model is your vehicle, and what engine does it have?
Customer: replied 7 years ago.

CHRYSLER PACIFICA 2004

3.5L

CODE: PO508

P.S. CAR SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING, BUT TURNS BACK ON WITHOUT A PROBLEM.

Ok, P0508 is set when the Idle Air Control Valve sensor circuit is drawing less than 175mA, what we've most commonly seen causing this issue and the stalling problems is a faulty IAC valve, which is located on the rear of the throttle body, it's just held in by a couple retaining screw and is pretty easy to change. I've included an illustration below showing it's location.

THANKS...SO IS THAT WHY IT SHUTS OFF..ITS NOT THE ECM RIGHT?
Yes, the idle control valve is what keeps the engine running when you let of the gas, when it fails it no longer compensates and allows the vehicle to stall.

I'LL HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE MOTOR PIECE ?
Yes, it's all one unit, some places call it an idle air control valve, others call it an idle air control motor, but it's the same part.
