How do you reset the power windows on a 2008 Chrysler Sebring

Resolved Question:

How do you reset the power windows on a 2008 Chrysler Sebring? Guy at the dealership said to get in, close door, pull up on window switch for 10 seconds. Is this a computer reset?

No, that recalibrates the auto-up feature, without a chrysler scan tool you're not going to be able to do any kind of computer reset other than disconnecting the battery.

Here's the relearn procedure from the chrysler service manual for the sedan.

CLEAR/DENORMALIZE, RELEARN/NORMIALIZE WITHOUT A SCAN TOOL

With the ignition in the run position hold up/down the window switch for at least 30 seconds until the DTC is set for stuck switch. This will clear the memory of the calibration information (CLEAR/DENORMAILIZE). Proceed to relearn/normalize.
1. Put a battery charger on vehicle.
2. If equipped with express-up/express-down, reset the express-up/down module for the door window glass. The window switch on the corresponding door must be used to control the window. Do not use the master switch for the passenger window.
3. To calibrate, start by moving the window to the middle position.
4. Drive the glass to the full-up position by pulling up on the window switch to its second detent and hold the switch until the glass is fully closed. Do not release the window switch. Continue to hold the window switch up for 2 seconds after the window glass is full closed.
5. Drive the glass to the full - down position by pushing down (depress) the window switch, (second detent if equipped with express-down) until the window glass is down for 2 seconds after the window glass is fully open. Do not release the window switch. Continue to hold the window switch down for 2 seconds after the window glass is fully open.
6. Check the operation of the express-up/ express-down feature.
7. If the express up/down doesn't work, repeat step # XXXXX waiting for 3 seconds.
8. Check that the window glass reverses when in the express-up mode by holding a pen in the path of the glass.
9. Once the proper operation of the express-up/express-down feature has been verified, clear all Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC’s).

Here's the procedure for the convertible:

CLEAR/DENORMALIZE, RELEARN/NORMIALIZE WITHOUT A SCAN TOOL

With the ignition in the run position hold up/down the window switch for at least 30 seconds until the DTC is set for stuck switch. This will clear the memory of the calibration information. Proceed to relearn/normalize.
1. Put a battery charger on vehicle.

NOTE: The convertible top must be completely closed and locked during this procedure.

NOTE: Both doors need to be completely closed when starting this step.
2. Sit in the driver seat and close the door.
3. Move the driver window part way down.
4. Using the Power Top Switch, raise the window to full up position and continue to hold the top switch for additional two seconds.
5. Using the window switch, lower the driver window to the full down position and continue to hold the switch for additional two seconds.
6. Raise the window to the full up position.
7. Verify that the window drops approximately 1/4 inch when the door opens, and raises when door closes. If window does not drop or raise, repeat procedure starting at step 3.

You can disregard the portion about clearing the dtc's they won't hurt anything as they'll store and eventually delete themselves.

My front passenger window is stuck in down position. Up, auto or otherwise, is not working. Every other window works. Why does step 1 say put a battery charger on vehicle?
Expert:  Josh replied 7 years ago.
To keep battery voltage high enough for the modules to operate, it's standard for most all procedures involving the modules on newer vehicles, reseting or relearning the door modules likely won't help with a window stuck down. The most common thing I've found on these cars in a failed window motor causing this problem.
