This answer was rated:

What are the specifications and torque ratings for the 42RLE VLP transmission
What vehicle are we referring to here?
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
2009 Dodge Challenger

OK, what are you specifically looking for?

I can send you the some info......but I have a feeling you are after something that is not in the manuals......let me know......

Customer: replied 7 years ago.
Send what you have as that is more than I have in my service manual CD.
I am putting on a centrifugal supercharger and can alter everything I need in the PCM associated with air/fuel/timing etc. I just want an idea on how much crank torque the 42RLE is rated at.

If you have the service manual, then you will have the same info I have.

I can tell you that the 42 RLE is a light duty trans.

If you breakdown the 42RLE........the 4 stands for 4 speed. The 2 stands for the torque rating.......although no specs are given, this is a very light duty trans.

You must have a 3.5 engine engine in order to have this trans, and quite honestly........I wouldn't hop the motor up too this trans WILL blow if you exceed to stock configuration.
