2001 sebring: a timing belt, chain or is it matching gears

Customer Question

does a 2001 sebring convertible 2.7 have a timing belt, chain or is it matching gears?

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

The 2.7 actually has a three chain timing setup. There is a chain between each intake and exhaust cam, and there is a long chain between the crank, water pump, and each intake cam. It has a hydraulic tensioner that is fed engine oil pressure to keep the chains tight. There isn't a service interval on the chains where you have to replace them at a certain mileage.
