My 2001 Chrysler Town & Country continues to have blinking radio lights (although unit won't work), on again -off again dashs lights and easily drained battery (high cca, only 2 yrs old.) I am hearing anything from 'replace every fuse in the vehicle' to 'need a new body control module.' Any other ideas for this very frustrated Chrylser owner. Many thanks.
is the raido and the dash lights blinking off and on or is it just the raido?
On the radio, the three lights on the equalizer slide buttons blink constanly. The lights on the cd changer at the bottom of the dash seem to be fine and you can hear the cds moving, and they will eject and go back in just fine.
As for the dash lights, it's mainly the background lighting for the buttons, and they work some days and don't on others.
I suspect that I may be looking at two individual problems.
This is not a problem with the body computer this is just a bad radio.the dash light problem is most likely the headlamp switch.the knob that you use to ajust the brightness on the guage display gets dirt in it and will cause this.
So there is no magical reset button anywhere, or button combination, that can reset it? I know this is possible on home systems as I was able to on a Denon stereo a couple of years ago. Someone told me once that the radio MAY think it was stolen from another vehicle and that the flashing lights were to keep me from using it. It isn't of course, it actually a dealer warranty replacement about three years ago.
No this is just a bad radio it has a internal problem and will need to be replaced.you can buy this raido on ebay for about 60 dollars.

Thanks a bunch, I'll start looking. I suppose I can remove and clean the dimmer dial.
If you take it out and can get some compressed air you can blow it out while rotating the dial to clean it out.
