Customer Question

88 s 10 seems to hav trouble running at any crusing speed engin cuts out on and off sometimes won't take start ups in traffic and will seem to bog down
JA: Have you checked the battery, particularly the terminal connections? Are they corroded?
Customer: no i dont think they are when it cuts on and off it is like a jerkey feeling and if i give it some more gas it goes smothely.
JA: Are you fixing your 88 yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: taking it to a garage where they know the vehicle and are now on vacation they said they could fix it but so far nothing. the egr valve is less than 6 months old . the fuel control valve in the throttle body is only 2 yrs old . the computer is about 3-4 yrs old. the readout on the computer says everything is ok
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: not that i can think of

Hi, I'm Ron and I will be helping you today.
Stand by for a moment while I prepare your answer.

Start by checking the fuel pressure with a gauge. Most parts stores will loan you the gauge, tell you how to use it and the pressure specs.

Thanks, Ron
