I have a 2005 gmc envoy xl. The headlights come on and go of

Customer Question

I have a 2005 gmc envoy xl . The headlights come on and go of when they want to .At first they would go off and come back on about 10 minutes later, then I stared fluctuating . I had the problem for about 8 months . all the articles I've read on the matter said to change the dimmer switch I did . and that if you let the problem go for a extended period of time witch I also did I would ruin the wiring and it would have to be replaced . The new dimmer switch is installed and I'm having the same problem . do I need to replace the wiring to it ? what do you recommend ?
JA: Have you checked the fuses? Have you checked the bulbs?
Customer: fuses are good . some had said I might be running a to high of voltage bulb though . could this be it ?
JA: Are you fixing your Envoy XL yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Yes . just replacing the dimmer switch .
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: I guess not

Is this the daytime running lights or the low beam lights that you are talking about?

Can I start by getting your VIN?

Thank you!
