Hi, and thanks form being there.
My daughter is on the highway in New York driving when her engine overheating light came on./ She stopped immediately. THEN she tells me that it took 45 minutes to heat up.
Her car is a 2014 Chevy Sonic with about 30,000 miles on it.
Any thoughts or suggestions wioll be appreciated.

Don't drive it until the cooling system gets checked out real close. If it overheats too badly, it can cost you an engine.

If the coolant level is full and it's still overheating without any leaks, then the thermostat can be causing this to happen. If the coolant is leaking out, get that fixed right away.

Thanks, Ron
