Hello there,

Cruze has been out since 2009.

I've never seen one have a fuel pump problem.

Have you scanned the whole vehicle for codes?

This is always the first step in diagnosis.

Gary

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
U10109 I got this code
Customer: replied 3 months ago.
I mean u0109
Expert:  Gary replied 3 months ago.

Ok, this is a communication code of high priority, hence your no start condition.

What module is it stored in?

I will come back with some info about your code shortly.

Gary

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
Car starts if I put starting fluid otherwise it will not start
Expert:  Gary replied 3 months ago.

Is the U0109 a current code, and what module is it in?

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
What you mean I'm lost here
Expert:  Gary replied 3 months ago.

Is the code stored in the ECM?

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
still there because car won't start not enough fuel is getting to the injectors
Expert:  Gary replied 3 months ago.

That's right, no fuel pump.

Your chassis expansion bus is down.

2013 had a fuel pump module, 2014 has a chassis expansion bus.

Are you willing to go to a GM dealer now?

Gary

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
No
Customer: replied 3 months ago.
In order to fix this problem I got to take this car to a dealer?
Expert:  Gary replied 3 months ago.

I sorry I can't help any further.

Your chassis expansion module has a can-bus, power or ground issue.

It would be wise to take it to a GM dealer.

Hope this helps.

Hello again,

Do you need any further help?

I hope my advice has been of assistance to you.

Kind regards

Gary

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
i would like to do more testing because was working fine and then I took the head off for repair and then when put it back on no fuel so I'm guessing a bad ground somewhere by the engine or plug is not connected
Expert:  Gary replied 3 months ago.

Ok, certainly sounds feasible that you created a fault by accident.

Seen it many times.

Now, you need to double check everything, and hopefully something stands out.

Question that I have for you does timing has something combine with the fuel delivery
Expert:  Gary replied 3 months ago.

If the valve timing is incorrect, the engine would not start.

All the timing belt marks are lined up correctly?

If that U0109 code is still there, that will be why the no start.

Maybe you have damaged some wiring for the fuel pump control module.

I have had many cars towed to our dealer that others can't fix.

You might be in this scenario.

Gary

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
Yep but the car starts if I put engine starter or some flammable stuff
Customer: replied 3 months ago.
u0109 still present
Customer: replied 3 months ago.
I did the timing by the book spec
Expert:  Gary replied 3 months ago.

Ok, you have proved the engine is ok, and no fuel is delivered.

The fuel pump control module is not talking to the ECM.

I'll get some more info for you.

Gary

Expert:  Gary replied 3 months ago.

Hello again,

The fuel pump should run for 2 seconds when the key is turned on, as in the description here:

I think you will taking the car to a Chevy dealer.

You really need all the information and tools that the dealer would have.

Gary

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
Ok thanks I would try that
Expert:  Gary replied 3 months ago.

Ok, I will leave it with you now.

Kind regards
