i would check valve train operation....any motor noise

Customer: replied 25 days ago.
I will check the valve train cause I am out of ideas but why would you suggest the valve train ? Seems to keep getting fuel and combustion with no spark. The compession test makes sense cause of carbon build up. I have seen engine es way out of spec and run good never have the problem I am having. It seems like a carb problem but I am not familiar with carbs. Most of the engines I work on are fuel injected

bad cams are common for back fire...if the valves on a certain cylinder has less or no travel it would point to a rounded cam lobe....but that serious teardown ..pulling valve covers is way easier....no spark now?

Customer: replied 25 days ago.
Cool I will check that it would suck to change cams at 57000 I feel like Chevy fell a lil short on this engine. This truck has been babied for 34 years...... Very sad. I will let you know moday. Do you know the intake and exhaust lash??
