Customer Question

I have a 2003 z71 avalanche . If I disconnect my battery and re connect it it will be fine for a while. Then it will not work or show a speed even at a stand still or whildiving it will show 120 miles per hour. Some people said I need to replace my speed sensor. What can you tell me? I have 82000 miles on it so chev will not cover recall .
JA: Does the sensor have a wire-wrapped magnet? If so, have you checked it with an ohmmeter?
Customer: I don't know. Can you tell me where to look for it?
JA: Are you fixing your Avalanche yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Just the disconnect the battery
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: No
