hello ron here I, have a 2004 aveo chevy and the shift lever stuck in park with no brake light Can, you help ?
JA: Have you checked the brake fluid? How's the level and when was it last changed?
Customer: brake fluid looks fine had the car 4 years do not know when last change before then ?

Customer: yes but ut thought it could be the brake light switch or fuse ?

Have you checked all fuses? You could simply just have a bad/blown fuse.

There are two fuses that need to be checked. The audio clock fuse (F2 which is a 10 amp fuse) and the backup lamps fuse (10 amp fuse F5) both located in the I/P fuse block.

If both fuses are good, then I would recommend to check the stop lamp switch under the dash by the brake pedal. First, make sure it has power going to it and then try and jumper the switch to see if tht does the trick.
