Customer Question

I have a 1991 Chevy Beretta; which I am putting a new starter in. All the leads have been clipped which means I have to put new eye hooks on them. There are 3 orange, one purple, and one bluish gray. Which one goes to the ignition side of the solenoid?
JA: When you turn the key, do you get a single loud click, or a series of rapid ones?
Customer: I get power, but no click at all
JA: Are you fixing your Beretta yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Yes, fixing it myself. Just have to figure out which wire goes to the ignition side of the solenoid. I know all the other wires go to the battery post on the solenoid.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: That's it

When you say ignition side of the solenoid, do you mean which wire is HOT with the key in START position?
