2005 chevy cavalier intermitant start issues. turn the key

Customer Question

2005 chevy cavalier intermitant start issues. turn the key to on and all systems and lights are present. Turn to start and nothing happens. I replaced the battery, battery terminal bolts, cleaned connections, replaced the starter relay. After I work on it then it starts just fine for a while then the trouble comes back.
JA: Is the car in "Park" or "Neutral?" Do you know if your car has a "wheel lock" feature?
Customer: Car is in park and yes it has the wheel lock feature.
JA: Are you fixing your Cavalier yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: yes myself. As I said above I have replaced the battery, battery terminal bolts, cleaned connections, replaced the starter relay.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: thats it

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

There are many things that can cause a no start condition, some electrical testing would need to be done at the time the problem is happening to know for sure what is going on. You could have a bad ignition switch, a wiring issue, it could be the transmission range sensor, the powertrain control module may not be awake or it could be a security related issue.

Were you able to get the problem repaired?
