When I start my chevy equinox, I can hear it crank, it

Customer Question

Hi. When I start my chevy equinox, I can hear it crank, it sounds like a machine gun, but it never turns over.
JA: Soon. I'm trying to find the right Chevy Mechanic for you right now. As soon as they are ready, I will let you know.
Customer: Thank you
JA: Will the headlights turn on? Is the battery fully charged?
Customer: Yes, I had the battery tested today and charged. I noticed a few other symptons the tire gauges are blank. So I think I may have blown some fuses. I already replaced the mega fuse.
JA: Sorry about that. I must have missed it. Could you tell me again?
Customer: Missed what? The symptoms?
JA: What year is your Equinox?
Customer: It's a 2008 2WD
JA: Are you fixing your Equinox yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: So far, I've replaced the mega fuse and tested/charged the battery
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: It makes a machine gun like noise when I try to start it. That's about it.

Hello my name is***** am an ASE Master Technician and I am glad to help you out with your question.

Expert:  Dan replied 25 days ago.

That is a sign of the battery being low. Try to jump start it and let me know.

Expert:  Dan replied 25 days ago.

It also could be a bad cable, poor connection or bad ground. The starter is not getting enough current so it makes the clicking noise.

Hi Dan
Customer: replied 25 days ago.
I had my battery tested today and they said it was a good battery, and they also charged it.
Customer: replied 25 days ago.
But I can try jump starting it.
Expert:  Dan replied 25 days ago.

I would try jumping, this will tell you if the cables are good to the starter.

Customer: replied 25 days ago.
Will do.

It didn't work. I had the battery tested/charged today at a O'Reilly's
Customer: replied 25 days ago.
I just tried jump starting again.

I can hear the engine crank about 7-10 times when I turn the key, but then it stops, but all of the accessories come on.
Expert:  Dan replied 25 days ago.

Ok so you have a crank but no start, you need to check fuel pressure, injector pules, spark then finally compression. You need to see which one you do not have. You will need some test equipment to diagnose this.
