Chevrolet Repair Questions? Ask a Chevy Mechanic for Answers ASAP
Hello and welcome! My name isCustomerand I can assist you with your question.
Are you looking for some possible causes or would you like me to walk you through this diagnoses?
The most common or likley causes are a bad fuel pump, crankshaft position sensor, computer, security system (bad key or ignition switch) or a blown fuse.
Some other not so common causes would be a bad camshaft position sensor, throttle body or bad gas
Some simple tets would need to be performed to give you a direction to go in. Would you like some suggestions?
YES there are some things you can do. I will go over them for you
You can check to see if the engine has spark with some basic tools. For example, you can use a screw driver or a spark tester to see if the engine has spark while cranking. You can ensure that there are no anti theft or security lights on or flashing on the dash with the key on or when trying to start the engine.
You can also see if the engine runs on starting fluid. If so, this indicates a fuel delivery problem.
All of this can be done without a computer.
It depends on your set up. Some do and some dont. If you send me your VIN, I can find out for you. But if there are no anti theft or security lights on or flashing on the dash, then it is not related to the secuity system.
As long as you would like
I am very sorry but I dont do the billing for the site. I cannot answer that question.
