I went to start it this morning and absolutely nothing

Customer Question

I went to start it this morning and absolutely nothing happened at first. (2010 chevy equinox) I tried to turn the key multiple times with little progress (a couple of mild rumblings). I then let it sit for a while and it started with only a little difficulty, but the engine light is on.
JA: Is the car in "Park" or "Neutral?" Do you know if your car has a "wheel lock" feature?
Customer: The car was in park. It had been sitting parked from 4:30pm yesterday until 6:45 am this morning.
JA: What is the model of your '10 Chevy?
Customer: equinox
JA: Are you fixing your Equinox yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: My boyfriend will be taking a look at it later before we try to take it anywhere. It started after I let it sit for a minute so I'm not fixing it right this moment.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: I haven't had MUCH maintenance done on the car since I got it in Early '14. The only things have been oil changes and a fix to a muffler leak
