I the cd stereo is lock
JA: Is this an aftermarket stereo, or did it come with the car?
Customer: it come with the my brothers truck but he take it out and put another stereo and give it to me to put on my Silverado but is lock
JA: What year is your Silverado?
Customer: 2008 but the stereo is from a 2010 silverado
JA: Are you fixing your Silverado yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: yes nothing so far
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: no I just wanto to know how to get the code or how to unlocke it

There is NO Customer UNLOCK for Factory Radio
GM Dealer has to UNLOCK via GM Scan Tool to Program V.I.N.
apprx 1 hour labor
No other way.
Also, IF you are trying to Install a "2010" GM Radio into a "2008", the 2010 may have different DATA & may not be able to Program to the 2008
The GM Radio work from DATA supplied thru the BCM (body Control Module)

GM Customer UNLOCK is no longer.......since 2002
ALL GM Radios have to be UNLOCKED via GM Dealer Scan Tool
