Expert:  Ron replied 3 months ago.

Yes you can do it when you get a chance and post back with the results and we can work from there.

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
There is only one fault code ---PO523
ANY IDEA?
Expert:  Ron replied 3 months ago.

The common cause for the fault code P0523 to set is in most cases cause by a failing Engine Oil Pressure Sensor but this should not a have any affect on the speedometer.

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
can the speed sensor on the gearbox cause the problem
Expert:  Ron replied 3 months ago.

Yes it sure is possible but in most cases if in fact that is the case the computer system will set and store a fault code .

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
i will change the speed sensor on the gearbox ,
do you think the oil press. sensor should be changed too? (po523)
Expert:  Ron replied 3 months ago.

Yes if you getting the code P0523 the oil pressure sensor is the common cause so replacing it may be a good idea as well.
