cd player says initializing and wont play
JA: Have you checked the fuse?
Customer: no I thought because the radio works that it had power
JA: What is the model/year of your Chevy?
Customer: 2006 chevy colorado
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I would like to fix myself but have done nothing to it yet
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: i did disconnect the battery and then reconnect with neg results

You need to unplug the radio, then plug it back in. This might work to get it working again.

Disconnect both battery cables (positive and negative) and hold them together for 15 minutes. Then reconnect one at a time, positive first then negative. This should reset the system.

You will have to remove the trim around the radio and pull it out.
