Remove the number one spark plug and turn the crank until you get a little huff of compression out of the hole.the TDC mark on the pulley will line up when you are at TDC and this will be the mark to use. If the mark doesnt line up at all, the balance may have shifted. The rotor should also line up with the number one spot on the cap if the distributor is timed correctly.
