My S-10 '03 2.2 L, 2003 5 speed 2wd reg cab, can't get the

Customer Question

My S-10 '03 2.2 L
JA: What is the model/year of your Chevy?
Customer: 2003 5 speed 2wd reg cab, can't get the oil to stop leaking from ? front of oil pan or somewhere up there. I thought it was the rear mainseal, or the front transmission seal but those are good. I heard that the curved rubber part of the pan gasket seal is tricky,& aftermarket ones don't work.
JA: Have you ever replaced the gaskets? Maybe the hoses?
Customer: as far as I know the gaskets are all replaced. Inspected the hoses & they look good. seems to be coming from the corner of the curved rubber part of the pan gasket
JA: What year is your Chevy?
Customer: 2003
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: thought it was the rear main seal, so we removed the driveline transmission & clutch & cleaned every thing . Then re installed with new oil pan gasket & used "the right stuff" siicone sealer.
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: I'm having this done by my mechanic who doesn't read or speak English.
