I cannot get the timing on my 2006 chevy aveo to stay

Customer Question

I cannot get the timing on my 2006 chevy aveo to stay correctly timed after turning the crank shaft two revolutions.
JA: Do you know your ignition timing number? How many miles are on the car?
Customer: I do not know either.
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Yes, I have tried setting it several times and it gets off each time I rotate the crank shaft.
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: I'm not sure.
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Chevy Mechanic about your situation and then connect you two.

HI,

Did you align the crank mark with the bottom mark on the rear timing cover(6 oclock position), align the cam marks so they face each other(3 and 9 oclock positions) and then align the coolant pump using the special tool?
