2003 Chevy Silverado z71 4x4 5.3 v8 died while driving.

Customer Question

2003 Chevy Silverado z71 4x4 5.3 v8 died while driving. Pulled over and tried to restart, and nothing. Would not crank. I have checked and change fuses and relays. I don't think it's the pass lock.
JA: Have you located the fuse box? Do you know the fuse number?
Customer: I checked ign fuses and starter relay
JA: What is the model of your '03 Chevy?
Customer: 1500
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Yes
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: It could possibly be a ground wire
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Chevy Mechanic about your situation and then connect you two.

Sounds like the alternator has failed or the ground terminal to the battery as well as the alternator is damaged have they checked this?

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
It will not crank, the truck is on its way to the garage

Ok since dash lights work and they do not go dim when trying to crank it over sounds like either a ground issue or an issue with the starter itself as long as the engine did not seize this should not be a major repair..These are the next steps. Please rate excellent service so i can get credit for my help thanks .Bonuses greatly appreciated.Im here if you need anything else thanks
