Customer Question

Just had my 4l60e completely rebuilt by an excellent trans mechanic but soon after sometimes it wont shift from 2 to 3 unless I quickly back off the throttle and wait 3to 4 seconds and then gently apply throttle, this especially occurs when eng is hot with a.c. on. I have replaced 1-2 and2-3 shift selenoids, replaced tps. Engine temp gauge reads normal at time of problem. I did find a 3 inch long section of the main wiring harness where the colored plastic individual wires had brittle plastic maybe rom heat, some wires were bare but no sign of shorting, I wrapped each one carefully.Any ideas?

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

Having to release the throttle to allow a shift is often the result of clutch slippage or low line pressure.

Does the engine seem to have normal power?
Have you checked for fault codes?
Why was the trans work done?
