Hi. Does the clicking noise happen ONLY when the climate control is turned ON? Or does the clicking noise happen if the climate control is OFF as well?

Customer: replied 6 months ago.

what is strange is it happen with the ignition off as soon as i unlock the doors with the key and get in, the noise happens. when i turn the care on, no clicking.

Ok. Here is a picture of behind the instrument cluster. Can you tell me where exactly you hear the noise from. Possibly #9 or #7.

Expert:  EricFromCT replied 6 months ago.

Let me know.

Customer: replied 6 months ago.

it is #9, since that is the closest to the floor board

Expert:  EricFromCT replied 6 months ago.

Do you have dual climate controls? And are you sure the noise never happens if you change the climate control settings? The most common cause for clicking behind the dash is one of the temperature or recirculation door actuator.

Happens without car or ignition on

Expert:  EricFromCT replied 6 months ago.

I understand. I need to know if this happens at all when the car is running and the climate control is used.

Expert:  EricFromCT replied 6 months ago.

Also the recirculation door motor will work when car is off. WOuld you say the noise usually lasts about one minute? or how long?

Customer: replied 6 months ago.

Let me get more info

How can I know if it's dual?

Expert:  EricFromCT replied 6 months ago.

DOes the passenger and drivers have different climate control settings?

Customer: replied 6 months ago.

No, they donr

Expert:  EricFromCT replied 6 months ago.

Ok. I have a feeling that you need a recirculation door actuator. You need to lower the glove box door completely so you can see behind it. By pushing the stops out of the way. The actuator is behind the glove box door. Then make the vehicle make the clicking noise and put your hand on the actuator and see if that is where you feel the clicking noise coming from.

Its not clicking at all under glove. Its from #9 from diagram you sent me
