Isuzu 1994: I have a 94 Isuzu NPR with a Chevy 350. The engine

Customer Question

I have a 94 Isuzu NPR with a Chevy 350. The engine with start with a small amount of fuel in the carb but quickly dies after. Wont start on its own. Ran fine , hit a puddle, now won't start. I can hear the injectors doing something when I cycle the key but they don't seem to be getting fuel. Fuel pump? Ignition Control? What do you think? Thank you.

It sounds to me as though the fuel pump isn't running. Check the fuse for the fuel pump, if it has an inertia shut-off switch ,make sure it didn't set when hitting that puddle and if all ok, try a new fuel pump relay.

Fuel pump fuse-checked
Inertia switch-not sure if 1994 Isuzu had one
Fuel pump- need to locate it

Normally the fuel pump is in the tank but don't you mean fuel pump relay?
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Relay..
Expert:  Mike S. replied 10 months ago.
Isn't this a commercial truck? I have no manuals on this vehicle and it really belongs in the heavy truck category.
Expert:  Mike S. replied 10 months ago.
Although I assume because it does have a chevy 350 in it, it might be considered a dual category, nonetheless, I don't know where the fuel pump relay might be located/
Expert:  Mike S. replied 10 months ago.
Check in any fuse boxes or on the firewall.
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
fuse/relay box in dash above glove box. None labeled fuel relay.
So you think fuel relay or fuel pump ?
Expert:  Mike S. replied 10 months ago.
Normally they have a fuel pump relay. You are just going to have to find it.

If you don't have the owners manual, perhaps you might want the repair manual here for $59.95 http://www.helminc.com/helm/Result.asp?Style=helm&Mfg=AIM&Make=AIM&Model=NPR+&Year=1994&Category=1&Keyword=&Module=&selected%5Fmedia=

It should tell you were the fuel pump relay is located plus have he wiring diagram.
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Ill get on this repair later. It just puzzles me that a puddle caused this or just dumb luck.
Expert:  Mike S. replied 10 months ago.
I know it does have a fuel pump relay from reading this customers post on the very same vehicle and same problem you had, http://www.justanswer.com/car/123rl-94-isuzu-npr-5-7l-gas-no-start-replaced-fuel.html
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Interesting. Could be a solution.
Expert:  Mike S. replied 10 months ago.
