I have a 2005 chevy Silverado with a 4.3l v-6 yesterday morning it started and drove about 3 miles it shut off no noises no backfire nothing. it will turn over but not fire any ideas?

Welcome! My name is ***** ***** I can assist you with your question. My experience on these vehicles is that this is caused by a bad fuel pump. Have you checked fuel pressure? If there's no fuel pressure see if the engine runs on starting fluid. If it Runs on starting fluid and you know the engine has spark. Chances are the fuel pump has just gone bad and needs to be replaced.

Ok then you may have lost spark. The most common cause of no spark condition on this vehicle would be a bad crankshaft position sensor.
