does the signal lights and brake lights work correctly?

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
Signal and brake lights work fine. My total key-off draw measured at the battery is 171ma. Which is not a lot, but about 25ma-50ma is what I read is the norm.
Expert:  Tim's Auto Repair replied 8 months ago.

this is not much of a draw at all and shoudnt kill a good battery

Expert:  Tim's Auto Repair replied 8 months ago.

disconnect the combination[turn signal] switch and see if it still has the draw..

these signal light switches on this year model were known to short out.

thanks

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
the combination[turn signal] switch? The turn signal switch on the steering column? Where do I disconnect it?
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
Still have current drain with signal light circuit fuse removed.
Expert:  Tim's Auto Repair replied 8 months ago.

yes,the switch on the column..

the brake lights also go through this switch..these will short out sometimes

thanks

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
Still draws with brake and turn fuses pulled. Also unplugged the KH RWAL, and alternator connectors and still draws. I will check all fused circuits to isolate.
What other thoughts do you have?
Expert:  Tim's Auto Repair replied 8 months ago.

disconnect the large red wire from the alternator,,the problem may be the built in regulator in the alterbator

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
I did disconnect large red alternator wire. Still draws current. I will eliminate all circuits fuse by fuse and see.

please let me know

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
It was the lights on the vanity mirror on the driver side sun visor. I found by systematically removing fuses to find the circuit group drawing current then checking each individual circuit. This should be your first advice before disassembling the steering column to replace a turn switch.

strange,,

glad you found it
