Did you see the picture I attached? I'm looking to put tranny in 1994 chevy c1500, 2wd. But think it's short tail, and I thought impalas came with long tail
Expert:  Joe Barfield replied 9 months ago.

they could have changed it over....just see if the extension housing is a 9.....then it will fit right in

Expert:  Joe Barfield replied 9 months ago.

oh that's a 6 in the picture

Expert:  Joe Barfield replied 9 months ago.

it will work you just have to redue the drive shaft longer

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
Ok yea I'll need add 3" inches to it
Expert:  Joe Barfield replied 9 months ago.

you got it right

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
Ok I think I'd have to do more than that, I got 2 piece driveshaft, wouldn't I need to relocate cross member. This is also an extended cab. I measured and it's showing 1 inch off between the tail shafts . The tranny in it now is a 4l60e
Expert:  Joe Barfield replied 9 months ago.

Hi, the cross member is fine & as well your shaft should have slip splines as you can move it in & out on the lengh

Expert:  Joe Barfield replied 9 months ago.

Also the cable on the350th is only for passing gear so you can just not hook it up if you want...just use the gear lever same thing no arm to trans...as well that trans needs vacuum to the modulator or it will shift very late
