Customer Question

oil oressure
JA: Thanks. Can you give me any more details about your issue?
Customer: Suburban pulling a trailer. Suburban has always burnt a little oil. Check engine light is on and oil pressure dropped from 40 to 15. Added oil although the level was within the range, back on road but pressure is still at 20

likely the oil pump is getting weak.. I would manually thread in a hand held gauge before cracking the motor open... its generally one of 3 thing oil pump or internal issue, gauge issue or oil pressure switch failure...start with a oil pressure check with a hand held gauge threaded into the port in the motor

change the oil pressure switch that's at it without buying a oil pressure gauge
