Trying to replace the ect sensor
, the check engine

Customer Question

trying to replace the ect sensor
JA: Sometimes things that you think will be really complicated end up being easy to fix with a Chevy. The Chevy Mechanic I'm going to connect you with knows all the tricks and shortcuts. Tell me a bit more about what's going on so he can help you best.
Customer: the check engine light has been coming on, and I was told I need to replace the sensor, but I cant find it
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself?
Customer: yes don't have money for a mechanic
JA: Great! What have you tried so far? Is there anything else the Chevy Mechanic should be aware of about your Chevy?
Customer: um I was told the sensor should be under this plastic kind of shield, but this picture here is saying its at the back of the engine
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Chevy Mechanic about your situation and then connect you two.

Roy

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
I'm not sure exactly I think its a 2 liter and the code is p0125
Expert:  Roy replied 9 months ago.

ok, thanks

yes, the 125 code is for the coolant sensor. make sure you check the connector for damage. it is located by where the upper radiator hose comes ff the motor by the thermostat housing. it is towards the back of the motor drivers side.

Expert:  Roy replied 9 months ago.

These coolant sensors are indeed hidden from plain view. Luckily, the same engine found in your Cavalier can be found in other cars, such as the Saturn L300. Click here to see a video showing coolant temp sensor replacement on an engine just like the one in your car.

Best Regards.
