I have a 2002 Chevy Tahoe 5.3L. When I attempt to start it

Customer Question

I have a 2002 Chevy Tahoe 5.3L. When I attempt to start it after it has been sitting cold, it always takes 2 tries before it starts up. On the first attempt, tries to turn over, but doesn't. On the 2nd try, it starts right up. Could it be the starter?

Could be a fuel pressure issue, losing prime.

Can you get a fuel pressure gauge and check the fuel pressure?

I purchased a fuel pressure gauge, checked the pressure. It's low, 45 PSI.

Is that the pressure when running?

How long Does it hold pressure when shut off?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
That's the pressure when running. I didn't check to see how long it holds.
Expert:  Daniel Jones replied 1 year ago.

You need to see how long it holds pressure and what it is.
