How much $$$ to fix/replace 4-wheel drive in 2005 Chevy Silvarodo truck

Any idea what part of the 4wd is faulty?

No saw the truck on ebay called the dealer he ckd and said the 4WD was gone wants 9k for it

If it needs a new transfer case that should only run about $2000 for a re-manufactured transfer case. If it needs a front differential it could run about $2500 depending on how much of it needs to be replaced.

The dealership was probably just trying to stick it to them. Unless they were going to replace the front differential, transfer case, control modules and activator motors all at once I can't see it costing anywhere near 9k. Even with all of those parts at once it would probably still only cost about $6000 depending on the labor.
