Do you need to remove the intake manifold to replace spark

Customer Question

Do you need to remove the intake manifold to replace spark plugs and wires on a 2008 Equinox with a 3.4L V6? What would the average labor allotment be for this repair?

Hello and thank you for your question,

Which engine are you working on, the 3.4 or the 3.6?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It is the 3.4L as stated in my question.

Yes I am sorry I missed that. You do not have to remove the upper plenum to remove the spark plugs, Its a pretty tight fit but can be done. The labor to remove and replace the spark plugs calls for 1.4 hours. See the replacement steps in the link below. Copy and paste the link to your browser to open and view them. If you choose to go ahead and remove the upper plenum for clearance then the labor to do so calls for 1 hour additional labor.
