I have a 2015 Silverado 1500 with a 3.5" instrument display

Customer: Hi, my name is Piper. I have a 2015 Silverado 1500 with a 3.5" instrument display that shows which gear the truck is in. I just had an aftermarket radio installed and now the gear selection is no longer visible.
JA: Thanks. Can you give me any more details about your issue?
Customer: The gear shifting works fine, I just can't see what gear I'm in. Did my radio installer disconnect a wire by mistake?

This is definitely a radio installer fault. It is likely that if you were to have your vehicle scanned it would not scan. The radio is a communication gateway on these vehicles. They have to place an adapter to maintain communication.
