2001 Chevy 1/2 ton having heating issues, will have heat

Customer Question

Customer: 2001 Chevy 1/2 ton having heating issues, will have heat once in awhile but here lately no hot air. New thermostat last spring, new hose, flushed heater core.
JA: Thanks. Can you give me any more details about your issue?
Customer: Flushed out radiator add new antifreeze also. Blower runs but no heat at all. One of the hose going to the heater core will get hot but the other is cold. But has flow through the heater core if I disconnect the hose and run air or water through the core.
JA: OK got it. Last thing — JustAnswer charges a fee (generally around $18) to post your type of question to Chevy Experts (you only pay if satisfied). There are a couple customers ahead of you. Are you willing to wait a bit?

from the way you explain,it sounds as if coolant isnt flowing...you may have an air pocket in the system.

lets try this

lets bleed the system this way

1-remove the radiator/reservoir cap when the engine is cold

2-start the engine and let idle

3-turn the heater on max

4-keep coolant on hand and add it as needed

5-spme coolant may gush out with the air

6-keep doing this until the engine is at operating tempeture and the heater is hot

7-after the coolant settles down and the engine is warm,,install the cap

This may take as long as 20-30 minutes

let me know if that fixes your problem
