I have a 2005 Chevy Silverado that keeps showing "driver door ajar". I can't lock the truck closed because the alarm will sooner or later go off.

I am sorry your having this problem

if everything electrical works on the drivers door like the windows then these issues end up being the door latch ajar switch built into the inner door latch assembly on the door bad causing this issue

the best action to take is to have a shop remove the door panel and inspect the wiring to the inner door latch assembly if the wiring checks out ok then replacing the latch assembly will correct this issue you are having
