Welcome, I'm Chris (aka Moose) I'm an independent contractor here at Just Answer.
Smoke from the exhaust on a gas engine. If its white it can be coolant getting into the combustion chamber or excessive fuel that is not trying to burn.
Blue smoke would be oil being burnt,
Black smoke would be not enough air getting into the engine or to much fuel.
Any warning lights on, codes stored?
The running issues are they all the time and all temps and engine speeds?
Have you done anything so far to try and address this besides a pump and filter?
Thanks for asking your question and letting me try to help you.
