Did you have the head machined? And aren't the valves adjustablei? If so perhaps they are to tight? You have spark aND fuel which we need compression and timing
Okay bring top dead center up on number 1 both lobes should be pointing down on your cam in that position set your valves the rocker should be loose with no tension at this point and do each cylinder like that, on your engine adjustment is real sensitive. and if they are to tight she want crank
Sir if your mass air flow was fine before it is now. Dont' let him mess with you you know how people like to talk when you got a problem. Another thing the lifters in that head or hydraulic and they have to be pumped up did you soak them in trans fluid? if not they may have to spin a while

I am inclined to think your problem Wil be with lifters or valves. Is this the 3 cylinder engine? I have been looking everywhere for one of those. Either way go back and ck your adjustment LIke I shared with you if it checks out hook a battery charger up aND spin it over and over just don't burn starter up.

What is compression? Try pulling plugs and disabling injectors and spinning it over long as you can give starter break and spin again and again until u pump up lifters
Yes get a compression gauge remove plug screw in gauge and spin motor over and check compression
That will tell us if we have valve or lifter problem
It should crank then

Remove all plugs ck each cylinder and let's see what we got.

Try this, remove both battery cables tie then together while there together remove your iac valve and clean it and the throttle body really good then hook cables back up crank and let idle then drive this should force your computer to relearn a idle u may need a new iac try cleaning first

When a fuel pump runs it's actually sending out pulses of fuel. Think of a bucket brigade throwing water those little buckets of fuel need to be smoothed out in order for the injectors to handle them more efficiently. So the pulsator or dampener absorbs and smooths out the flow of fuel. The regulator is set to a certain pressure and is at the end of pressure line aND maintains pressure
