2005 Chevy astro van 4.3 I replaced left front upper ball

Customer Question

2005 Chevy astro van 4.3 I replaced left front upper ball joint and wheel bearing. I had to turn the wheel manually while it was not running on the lift now I have no power steering at all. Tried driving it to maybe burp out any air. Flushed it out. Still nothing. Common causes?

raise the front wheels without engine running and turn wheel back and forth using steering wheel. This should purge any air in system. If that doesn't help the most common failure is the pump itself. Cannot imagine why the ball joint replacement would have caused this.
