Hello my name is ***** ***** I can help.

Have you done anything before this happened?

Is the battery fully charged?

Do you have a scan tool?

Do you have a engine light on the dash when the key is on?

Sorry for so many questions just need to narrow it down.

Please get back with me

Thank you

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I have a scan tool
Battery fully charged
Lights on dash just no gear display meaning the square on top of the PRNDL12
Expert:  GM Bob replied 1 year ago.

Does your scan tool see live data for Engine control module and Trans control module?

If so does it show any data on what gear it is in? parameters display Park/Neutral

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Well it's a complete swap new motor with Trans but replaced all the computers and modules with steering wheel basically it's a complete swap
Expert:  GM Bob replied 1 year ago.

What engine was in it before? Same size?

Expert:  GM Bob replied 1 year ago.

There is a round gray connector that gets mixed up in the engine compartment.

It is on the driver side near the master cylinder.

I have seen this before

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Expert:  GM Bob replied 1 year ago.

not that one

Expert:  GM Bob replied 1 year ago.

It should look just like the one or is the one that plugs into the trans.

That one you may have crossed

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
All plugs are different and won't fit correctly ,the inside shifter wires came off the plug can u give me the proper way to reassemble the shifter plug

Have you checked all the fuses? If so was it with a test light?

Expert:  GM Bob replied 1 year ago.

Expert:  GM Bob replied 1 year ago.

Did you take it from another Impala? Same year

Expert:  GM Bob replied 1 year ago.

I need you to check for voltage where you plug the scan tool into. With key on. Tell me all your readings and wire color

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

Expert:  GM Bob replied 1 year ago.

Did you take it from another Impala? Same year

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Red white 12.7 brown 1.6 brown black 2.9 black n white ground 0 black ground 0 green2.3
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No it's from a 2009 and the car is a 2007 but it was av6 and now we upgrade it to5.3 but that really don't matter because we used everything of that v8 and we basically used just body and chasy from old car
Expert:  GM Bob replied 1 year ago.

Did you run the 2009 wires to the fuel pump?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Fuel pump enguages it works
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
How can I make it crank form the fuse box even if it don't run
Expert:  GM Bob replied 1 year ago.

I know the fuel pump works.

In the left side of the luggage compartment, taped to the body harness, approximately 28 cm (11.1 in) from the breakout to the vehicle communication interface module towards the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister vent solenoid valve

Expert:  GM Bob replied 1 year ago.

If you don't have that the modules wont work

Expert:  GM Bob replied 1 year ago.

Do you have the VIN# ***** the car from were you got the new engine

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
But it should still crank right
Expert:  GM Bob replied 1 year ago.

The computer tells the relay to engage when it see it in park. It gets info from the trans module

Tell me the resistances at the data connector. between the tan and the tan/black wire. Key off

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Tan 1.6 tan black 2.9
Expert:  GM Bob replied 1 year ago.

not the voltage

The resistances between them. one lead on tan the other lead on tan/black

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
1972
Expert:  GM Bob replied 1 year ago.

The key was off?

It should have been 60 ohms or 120 ohms.

This could be why you can't use your scan tool.

Did you replace the rear wire harness?

I need to check see if the 2007 had a Data Link Resistor

Did you have the VIN# ***** the 2009?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No I don't have the vin
Expert:  GM Bob replied 1 year ago.

Do you still have the 2009?

Expert:  GM Bob replied 1 year ago.

If it had ONSTAR the Data Link Resistor is in back.

If not it is on the left side by the park pedal

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It's reading 22.5
Expert:  GM Bob replied 1 year ago.

Does it have ant-lock brakes?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
it does but the abs pump is not installed because it's broken
Expert:  GM Bob replied 1 year ago.

So it is unplugged?

If so just plug the module in. See if that helps

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I can't it's all busted up I'll get one tomorrow can we finish this tomorrow I have to go to work at 9 Tks
Expert:  GM Bob replied 1 year ago.

Can't just plug the module in?

I have to work tomorrow also. But I will keep checking see if you posted any updates.

We can keep this going with no problem

Thank you

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Tks have a great night
Expert:  GM Bob replied 1 year ago.

I was thinking if you are not going to use the ABS.

I think you could bypass it with some rewire.

Let me know

Thank you

Expert:  GM Bob replied 1 year ago.

Just checking see how it is going.
