Are you going to attempt to repair this yourself or just wanting to know what the possible causes are?
The 2 most common reasons for the hesitation are a vacuum line leaking or disconnected OR, even more common, is a dirty throttle body.
Go to the parts store and get a can of throttle body spray cleaner and clean out the inside of the throttle body opening REAL good. 99% of the time that is what causes this issue. Also look at all vacuum hoses and make sure one isnt disconnected or cracked and sucking air.

Any further questions?
Ok, go and clean the heck out of the throttle body hole. Use a small brush and scrub off all the carbon and make sure its real clean inside and outside.
Hard to say then but it may be a weak injector not spraying enough fuel....
Have you checked the timing yet?
It's tricky and if its not advanced enough it can cause a hesitation....
If you have, what is it set at?
