2008 chevy impala will only start in neutral and the park and neutral indicator will not light up to show that's it in park

Hello thanks for using justanswer. My name is ***** ***** problem most likely is in the park position switch located on the transmission. Do u have a problem removing the key at any time.

no the key works fine just the indicator and it'll only starts in neutral

ok at this point i suspect neutral safety switch is causing the problem, do u have a scan tool or any type of digital volt meter for testing
