is the theft or security light on?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Security light is on. It has been on for awhile though and everything worked fine. Then this happened a few days ago and hasn't ran since
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Is my computer fried? Would that cause this problem?
Expert:  JOHN aka Eauto replied 1 year ago.

do you have a good scan tool? with body control functions?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No
Expert:  JOHN aka Eauto replied 1 year ago.

can you get one?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I can't. After all the research I've done on this problem (which seems very common although I can not find a solution) they all say there are no codes thrown and that it is a passlock problem
Expert:  JOHN aka Eauto replied 1 year ago.

generally it is a pass lock issue.. codes would help verify

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It is stuck in a parking lot now and I can't even get it to run long enough to get it down to my sho

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Oh I see. Yeah I do not have access to one
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
What can I do to override/bypass this system?
Expert:  JOHN aka Eauto replied 1 year ago.

generally its ignition key switch replacement or a wiring issue to the key switch

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

Expert:  JOHN aka Eauto replied 1 year ago.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Okay.. Scan tool won't hook up.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Has spark. Can keep running w carb and choke
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Fuel pump pressure is at 60 at start up then goes to 55
Expert:  JOHN aka Eauto replied 1 year ago.

that means you have no injector pulse ..the theft is killing power to the injectors

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
What should fuel pressure be
Expert:  JOHN aka Eauto replied 1 year ago.

Pressure55-60 psi

Open Throttle66 psi

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Could it be fuel pump? Or you think ignition switch is bad? Is there a security module?
Expert:  JOHN aka Eauto replied 1 year ago.

likely the switch

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I tried the switch on yellow d3 pass lock wire. Still doesn't stay running when I have the contacts open. Now what?
Expert:  JOHN aka Eauto replied 1 year ago.

with a resistor?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I don't see anywhere a resistor is mentioned.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Basically isn't this wire to remain open for bypass start up?
Expert:  JOHN aka Eauto replied 1 year ago.

you need to measure the resistance of they key and wire in a resistor in the circuit that matches the key

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Can you explain that to me a little more in depth?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
How do I measure the resistance of my key?
Expert:  JOHN aka Eauto replied 1 year ago.

this explains it step by step..............read about it here http://www.kingbain.com/how-to-permanently-disable-gm-passlock-system/
