Does white wire at brake switch power up when brake pedal is depressed? Does center brake light work?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
White wire does not get power when brake is pushed. Center brake like does not work

if you jumper across the orange and white wires, do brake lights come on?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
it does

Two possibilities, one is a defective switch. The other is that the switch is not being actuated by the brake pedal/rod. Try taking the switch off, pull rod end off of pedal pin and rotate the rod end 180 degrees, then reinstall the rod and switch and test operation.

The switch I purchase from advanced auto parts has nothing for the rod to actuate against. Top pic is the new switch; bottom is the old.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No room to rotate rod
Expert:  Dave Nova replied 1 year ago.

Do you see excessive wear at rod end?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No

The new switch does appear as though it is missing a part. Does black part of switch move separately from white portion?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
it separates
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Separated

When switch is put together, does the white portion move and actuate the center spring loaded plunger?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It looks like it should but it does not fit like it should against the rod going into the engine. It's a lot of room on the pin and its secured at an odd angle.

My suggestion is to replace the switch. Try to get the AC Delco replacement part, as this different design is odd and I believe it is the reason you have no brake light operation.

Ok thx
